My Favourite Things – Bamboo Socks
Green or Nothing Guy
It may seem like a silly thing to get excited about but bamboo socks are just amazing. I bought my first pair about three years ago from Woolworths in South Africa and will now wear nothing else. Apart from their obvious eco-friendly credentials they are also; incredibly soft, very durable (I’m yet to find any holes in my various pairs), and apparently help to stop your feet to going all whiffy after a sweaty day being bound up in your shoes, nice.
This morning I received my newsletter from the eco-friendly and ethical online clothing store Ascension and it told me that they too are also now selling bamboo socks, yay! They’re currently only available in one size – UK size 8-11, and are machine washable and dryer safe. You get 3 pairs for just £10 which for odour free feet, green credentials, great durability, and super soft comfort is a bargain in my eyes.
My only grip about bamboo socks is that I haven’t found anyone making them in funky colours and designs yet. A guy rarely gets to express himself with something a bit more colourful, especially when you’re in suited and booted mode, and often socks are the only way to add a splash of colour to your outfit. If anyone’s listening please get creative!
