The Ultimate Clean Computer Screen by E-Cloth
Green or Nothing Guy
I spend the majority of my day sat at my desk in front of a computer. I probably don’t have the tidiest desk in the world but one thing that I do really like to keep spotless is the screen that my eyes have to stare at all day long. It may seem like a small thing, but layers of dust and greasy finger prints on my LCD really bug me.
What bugs me even more however is trying to clean it. I’ve tried all kinds of products, from sprays to cloths, once I even tried using my son’s wet wipes (that are more commonly used to clean up his dirty bottom), but nothing has met my exacting requirements – a spotless, streak free, clean screen – until now that is.
One of the most amazing products that I’ve discovered recently is the E-Cloth which just uses water to help it clean. I tried out their Glass Polishing Cloth on my computer screen and, after making it slightly damp, found that my screen really had never been so clean, it was incredible. What was even more impressive that unlike my previous cleaning attempts, which resulted in the screen attracting dust within seconds of me wiping it, it has stayed clean and dust free, that was 3 days ago!
The secret of the E-Cloth apparently is that instead of simply pushing dirt around, it instead collects it on its wedge shaped fibres. Each fibre then cleans by breaking up and absorbing any dirt and grease it finds into the material. The natural cleaning effect of the fibres means that you only need to add water to wipe away the stubbornest marks, and when it’s too dirty to use anymore just throw it in the washing machine.
E-Cloth also offer a Screen Cleaning Pack which is suitable for cleaning and protecting Plasma, TFT, LCD, and laptop screens. The anti-static CleanSafe spray that it comes with is completely environmentally friendly (containing no chemicals), and doesn’t remove the screen coating, instead it forms a protective layer and repels dust from the screen.
I’m now a big fan of the E-Cloth range and will be exploring the rest of their range in due course I’m sure. I love the fact that no chemicals are involved in the cleaning process, there’s no lingering artificial aroma irritating my nostrils, or anything dangerous that my son can get his hands on. This is green cleaning at its best!
